Top wedding venues in Hertfordshire

Where to host your dream wedding in Hertfordshire? Here at Hertfordshire Photographers, we’ve been lucky enough to witness some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the county. When it comes to choosing the perfect location for your special day, you want it to be nothing short of extraordinary. Whether you’re looking for a grand estate or a cozy inn, there are plenty of exquisite Hertfordshire top wedding venues that will give you and your guests a day to remember. Let’s take a journey through four stunning options – Fanhams Hall, Hanbury Manor, Hatfield House, and Sopwell House – and explore what makes them special.

Fanhams Hall
Fanhams Hall is a Grade II listed building situated in Ware. It’s an opulent country house hotel set within acres of beautiful gardens, making it an ideal backdrop for your wedding photos. The venue offers two rooms for ceremonies; the intimate Garden Room with its pretty stone walls, or the grand Orangery with its glass-panelled ceiling and French doors opening onto a terrace area. A permanent marquee is also a great option if you’re looking to host larger weddings – couples can choose from their selection of evening food packages or opt for something more bespoke.

Hanbury Manor
Located on the outskirts of Ware, Hanbury Manor is a stunning Jacobean manor house surrounded by rolling parkland and mature trees. With stylish décor throughout, this is one of our favourite venues when it comes to photography – there are so many options available indoors and out! Couples can tie the knot in either the Pavilion Suite or Library (perfectly suited for smaller ceremonies), while their Ballroom provides plenty of space for larger weddings. And don’t forget about their outdoor spaces; they have several areas where you can exchange your vows alfresco style, including their Walled Garden which boasts views over the golf course.
Hertfordshire Photographers have been fortunate enough to photograph many weddings at Hanbury Manor – each one as beautiful as the last! We always love coming back here because there are just so many amazing shots that we can capture.

Hatfield House
Hatfield House was built back in 1611, yet despite being over 400 years old it still looks as grandiose today as it did all those years ago! This impressive country house has been used as a filming location for numerous films and television shows over the years – why not add your own special day to that list? You have three ceremony spaces available; The Great Hall (which seats up to 80 guests but can be expanded up to 120 if necessary), The Little Hall (which holds up to 40 guests), and The Drawing Room (ideal for smaller ceremonies). There are also plenty of photo opportunities within Hatfield House’s extensive grounds – think ruined abbeys, lakeside spots, and even deer grazing nearby!

Sopwell House
Last but not least we have Sopwell House – another grand country house located near St Albans. This venue boasts two gorgeous ceremony spaces; The Orangery with views across their 12-acre garden estate, and their recently refurbished Georgian Suite which holds up to 300 people and has its own private bar area too! In terms of photography locations, this place really has everything; manicured lawns dotted with topiary hedges, rustic pathways lined with wildflowers…the possibilities are endless! We’ve had some truly memorable days here at Hertfordshire Photographers shooting at Sopwell House – every wedding we photograph here is unique and special in its own way.

These four venues are just some of our favourites when it comes to capturing amazing wedding photos in Hertfordshire – but there are plenty more out there waiting to be discovered! If you’re ever stuck deciding on a venue then please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’ll be more than happy to chat through all your options and help you find something truly spectacular for your big day. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials from everyone here at Hertfordshire Photographers – we look forward to working with you soon!
